Candidiasis

Overview

A large number of the population in the USA is infected to a greater or lesser extent by the overgrowth of this fungus, Candidiasis, commonly referred to as a yeast infection. This is due to the varied causes that may facilitate the overgrowth of the fungus.

Possible Causes of Candidiasis

This situation has evolved in the last few decades due to the ubiquitous use of high fructose corn syrup, the introduction of birth control pills, the excessive use of antibiotics, steroid usage, underlying heavy metal stress, i.e. mercury from amalgam fillings, the ingestion of large amounts of preservatives in our foods today, the chronic use of alcohol and tobacco, and the excessive use of refined carbohydrates and sugars in our diets. The ingestion of large amounts of dairy products and milk (lactose facilitates candida growth)is another important causative agent. The condition, due to its varied clinical manifestations, may be mis- or under diagnosed.

Management

The Houston Wellness Clinic is extremely sensitive to the existence of Candidiasis and manages it aggressively. Being aware of how it may mimic other conditions such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, depression, insomnia, eczema with varied skin rashes, and gastro-intestinal disturbances such as diarrhea and constipation, we take great efforts in both recognizing and reducing this condition in our patients.

The doctor first sits with the patients and confirms the diagnosis through various tests and medical/lifestyle records. The center then takes a multifaceted approach to managing the condition, which includes eliminating and avoiding any possible causative agents, applying nutritional therapy, administering anti-fungal interactive supplementation, detoxifying the liver, supporting the digestive tract, and employing aggressive intravenous therapies that rapidly destroy the Candida fungus as well as associated parasitic infestations which may occur alongside the fungal infection. Our intravenous therapies consist of intravenous hydrogen peroxide and anti-fungal supplemental intravenous administration.

Our specialist realizes each patient is different; therefore, the symptoms and management most likely will be as well. Once a management plan has been established, the doctor explains it in detail to each patient so they have a thorough understanding of how they will eliminate the Candidiasis. Back to Top
