Frequency Specific Mircocurrent Therapy
Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) therapy is an emerging technique that has proven successful in managing several different kinds of health conditions. The technique utilizes paired frequencies that are applied via electrodes to specific patches on the patient’s skin. The warming and softening of the skin during the application of the microcurrent is similar to what occurs during acupuncture, cranial-sacral manipulation and other energy-based techniques.
At Houston Wellness Clinic, we also utilize Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequency Pulsations (PEMF) which, like FSM, induces non-invasive flowing current within the soft tissues. This electrotherapy protocol uses various forms of energy in the human body to maintain and organize vital living systems. It also powers processes such as nerve conduction, digestion and circulation.
Conditions It Manages
Applications of FSM therapy can include:
- Removal of scars
- Removal of fibroids and fibrosis
- Collagen and elastin stimulation
- Removal of calcium and other mineral deposits
- Increase the vitality of targeted tissues
- Reduction of oral and genital herpes
- Reduction of eczema and psoriasis
In combination with ozone injections, supplements, detoxification and, where applicable, neuro-prolotherapy, we are also able to manage fibromyalgia with FSM and PEMF.
Facet joint disease can be managed with FSM, prolozone injections, and PEMF. FSM is also a part of the process of managing delayed onset muscle soreness (chronic muscular pain after exercise), strengthening tendons and ligaments and shortening the time it takes to heal from an acute fracture.
Neurological and emotional issues managed with electrotherapy include:
- Acute concussion
- Brain fog
- Depression, grief, anxiety
- Mental tension
- Feelings of abandonment and loneliness
FSM therapy is utilized at Houston Wellness Clinic to help manage central or thalamic pain syndrome, dermatomal nerve pain resulting from a herniated disc, foraminal narrowing, traction injury, and fascial adhesions. Post-herpetic neuralgia (shingles), thoracic outlet syndrome, Morton’s neuroma, peripheral neuropathies, and reflex sympathetic dystrophy are also managed with FSM therapy.
FSM therapy has been very successfully used to stimulate the immune system address various gastrointestinal issues, including irritable bowel syndrome and Crohn’s disease, gastritis, GERD, ulcerative colitis and diverticulitis, and constipation.
Inflammation of the gall bladder, pancreas and liver can be managed with FSM and electrotherapy. FSM therapy offers support for the adrenal and thyroid gland. It is also successful in promoting breast and kidney health when combined with a regimen of supplements, homeopathic medicine, and dietary changes.
Vulvodynia, vaginal scar tissue, and ovarian cysts can all be managed with FSM therapy. The therapy can also correct swelling that occurs with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Finally, FSM is a part of a protocol of therapies we use to manage lung issues, including asthma, bronchitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sinus conditions, and vascular conditions.
When FSM is applied, an almost immediate softening of the underlying deep tissues occurs. Deep areas of spasm, or “trigger point,” formation may become apparent. These hardened points are softened and the pain eliminated with FSM.
Energy medicine, including FSM and PEMF, involves the use of energies and frequencies to stimulate tissue repair and enable built-in healing mechanisms to operate more effectively. Repair occurs through the magnetic fields created by the moving electrons, mircocurrents, or movements of charged particles.
