Hepatitis C

Overview

This condition is a viral disease that causes swelling of the liver. The most common type of hepatitis is where cirrhosis develops in 10-20% of cases and liver cancer in 1-5% of cases. About 80% of Hepatitis C cases become chronic if left unmanaged for longer than 6 months.

This condition is caused by the Hepatitis C virus. It is passed through blood so it can be transferred from needles, transfusions (before 1992), razors, sexual partners, organ transfers, etc.

Management

At the Houston Wellness Clinic we initially establish whether there is active disease and how severe it is or whether there are only raised antibody levels indicating past disease.

Although this condition can be manageed with antiviral medications such as Interferon, we believe the cost and side-effects from these antiviral medications lets us lean to a different approach using intravenous hydrogen peroxide therapy. We pair this management with natural supplements to boost the immune system as well as natural ways to repair and protect the liver to inhibit viral multiplication. To maximize the effects of our management we exclude any underlying toxic metal overload, evaluate the blood profile, asses the viral load, and do a comprehensive hormone analysis. Oxidative stress from free radical damage is also corrected.
